Obituary of Norma H. Morgan

Norma passed away on July 1, 2007, at the Sarcee Hospice, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71 years. Born in Coleman, Alberta, on August 21, 1935, Norma will be best remembered for her bubbly, cheerful, non-judgemental personality (never a bad word spoken of anyone), her continuous giggle and laugh that would consume the room, her mastery of the piano while Ralph crooned in the background, her love of family and grandchildren (she never missed a hockey game or a dance competition), and her tireless work for the Crowsnest Reunion Committee. Along with her passion for world travel Norma was affectionately known as “Little Norma” by all her travel buddies. Throughout her battle in the past few years Norma still shared her wit and sense of humour, refusing to give in to this terrible disease. Norma is survived by her loving family, Ralph, her husband of fifty years; her daughter Wendy (Ron) Chapman; her loving sons, Rick and Gary; her beloved grandchildren, Brad, Kevin and Jill Chapman; and her brother Bill (Helen) Shields of Cranbrook, BC. Also left to mourn are several brothers and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as an enormous circle of friends. Norma was predeceased by her sister Helen (Lawrence). A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at 2:30 p.m. Norma will be cremated and have her remains released in the hills where she grew up in the Crowsnest Pass, knowing full well that part of her will remain there, but also, those famous strong Chinook winds will undoubtedly carry her to many of her favourite destinations that she visited throughout the world.
