Patricia Gajda

Obituary of Patricia Dianne Gajda

Patti Gajda, beloved wife of Michael and loving mother of Matt and Emily of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the age of 42 years after a courageous battle with breast cancer. Patti was born on July 29, 1964 in Calgary. She was raised in the Willow Park area, graduating from Lord Beaverbrook in 1982. Patti completed her university degree in Education and has been teaching school in Calgary for twenty years. Her proudest moments came on the birth of her children Matt and Emily; being a mom was her most important job. Patti’s devotion and dedication to her children and her family is what has gravitated people to her. When asked what she was most proud of it was being a mom, wife, teacher, friend, and volunteer. The family’s trip to Maui last August was a special time together and she was so thankful for that. Patti is survived by her father Ed (Linda); brothers, Mike (Belinda) and Daniel; and sister Kathy (Ray). Patti has also been a monumental figure in her nephew Andy’s life. She opened her home to Andy and many other young people who needed a soft place to fall. Patti was predeceased by her mother, Carol Brady, and, recently, her uncle Leroy Flamond. Please join Patti’s special friends and family for a Memorial Service to honour her lifetime achievements at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, July 9, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
