Obituary of Kristen Misti Dawn Armsworthy
Misti Dawn passed away in Calgary on Thursday, June 14, 2007 after a nineteen-year courageous battle with diabetes and its complications.
Born in Oromocto, NB, Misti graduated from Oromocto High School in 1992. Upon graduation, Misti accompanied her mom, dad, and brother to a posting in Calgary so she could attend U of C. She had, however, met her future husband in New Brunswick, so she decided to move back and they were married. From New Brunswick, Misti and husband, Scott, were posted to Shilo, MB. It was in Brandon that Misti gave birth to her two “miracle children” Shae-Leigh Wynter and Liam Christian Scott, both two months premature, again, due to complications caused by her diabetes. Shae and Liam were the very centre of Misti’s all too-short life.
Misti accompanied her husband back to Oromocto, NB before finally moving back to Calgary to be with her family. She moved to Didsbury four years ago and was planning to move back to Calgary to be closer to her family, but God had other plans.
Misti is survived by her children Shae and Liam; mother and father Larry and Christine McInnis; her “baby brother Shae” (Shaemus) and his wife, Kaylia; her best friend and loving companion Tim; twelve aunts; eleven uncles; and forty cousins. Misti was predeceased by her “Nanny” and “Packy” Newman; her Gramma and Grampa Devereaux; her grandfather McInnis; uncles Bill, Ron and Pat; and cousins Evelyn, Joey and Carol.
