Obituary of John Armstrong

John (Jack) Armstrong, formerly of Calgary, passed away in Edmonton on Saturday, June 9, 2007, at the age of 97 years. John was born on April 17, 1910 in Durham, England to Thomas William Armstrong and Margaret Noble. He immigrated to Canada, with his late wife, Elsie, and their son, Robert, in 1952, settling originally in Renfrew, ON, before moving to Calgary in 1955. Jack worked at Hi-Lite Printing and then at the Calgary General Hospital, retiring from the Materials Management Department in 1975. He later moved to Kelowna and resided there for twelve years before returning to Calgary. In April 2002, Jack and Elsie moved to Edmonton, and in February of 2006 Jack took up residence at the Somerset Nursing Home. Jack is survived by his brother, Robert of Wales and sister Marion of England and will be remembered by his son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Christine; grandchildren Kevin (Melanie and son, Ben) of Victoria, BC and Kimberley (Alfred) Orono and great-granddaughter Aisukali of Tanzania.
