Obituary of Josephine Mulchinock

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Josephine, on Sunday, June 3, 2007, in her home in Calgary, at the age of 85 years. Jo was born on February 8, 1922, the youngest of eight, and grew up on an Alberta farm and did her schooling in nearby Bashaw. While working in Edmonton, she met Dr. William (Bill) James Mulchinock who she married in 1945. Bill and Jo moved to southern Ontario and settled in Barrie for the next nineteen years and raised their four children before returning to Alberta in 1968. Jo was a skilled homemaker, devoted wife and dedicated mother. She was an avid gardener and nature lover and enjoyed camping, golf, tennis and skiing. Later in life she took up hiking, traveling, and lapidary. She and Bill enjoyed trips to Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Cuba, and the USA. Her thirst for knowledge and new experiences was an inspiration to her children and grandchildren. Jo was predeceased by Bill, her loving husband of forty-three years; and her brothers Gordon, Eddie, and Glen. She is survived by her brother George; and sisters Lena, Jean, and Louise. Jo is lovingly remembered by her daughter Joan; sons Jack (Heather), Jim (Barbara), and Donald (Marie); grandchildren Megan (Todd), Jim (Rachel), Christopher, Kimberly, Jonathan, Cynthia, Kathleen, Benjamin, Shawn, Jordyn, and Sarah; and great grandchildren Zenan, Madeleine, and Kal.
