Obituary of Catherine Brown

BROWN Catherine May (nee Elliott) Brown completed her life’s journey, passing away peacefully at Intercare@ Millrise Place in Calgary, AB on Monday, June 4, 2007 at the age of 96 years. Catherine was born in Saskatoon, SK on May 29, 1911. She was raised, educated, married and lived in Saskatoon, SK for ninety years. She will be lovingly remembered by her son Burt and daughter-in-law Annette Brown, of Calgary, AB; her granddaughter Nicole (Daryl) Wilson of Red Deer, AB; and great-granddaughters Renée and Keira Wilson of Red Deer, AB; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Catherine was predeceased by her husband of forty-eight years Wesley (Wes) Brown in 1979; her parents Charles and Hester Elliot; her brothers Bob Elliott and Bert Elliott; and her sister Marjorie Elphinstone. Catherine was a life long member of the United Church of Canada, joining Mayfair United Church in 1936. She was a Charter Member of the U.C.W., and remained an active member and supporter of Mayfair Church for sixty-five years. In 2001 Catherine moved to Calgary to be with family. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at Mayfair United Church, at 902 – 33rd Street West, Saskatoon, SK, on Friday, June 15, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Jack Carr presiding. Graveside Service to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, SK. Friends are most welcome to attend. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
