Obituary of Gert McDonald

Gertrude McDonald, of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2007 at the age of 87 years. Gert was born in Winnipeg on January 4, 1920. She met and married her husband George of sixty-two years in Winnipeg. They lived in Vancouver and Kamloops during World War II. They moved back to Winnipeg and then on to Montreal, a place that was forever dear to her heart. They retired to Calgary. She will be remembered for her sense of humour and style. Gert will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Sheila (Jack) Shipley of Ayr, ON; and sons Michael of Vancouver, BC, and Tim (Debbie) McDonald of Calgary, AB. She will also be remembered by her sister-in-law Margaret Gorrell of Winnipeg, MB; and Gert’s extended loving family. Gert was predeceased by her husband George.
