Francesca Ambrogiano of Calgary, passed away peacefully with her family at her side, on Sunday June 3, 2007, at the age of 96 years. Francesca is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Charlie and Elvira Ambrogiano; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Dina and Dean Loria (Adam and Andrea), Daniela and John Williams (Evan, Rhys and Breana), Mike and Marianne Ambrogiano (Natalia), Lora and Mark Ashton and Garry and Stacy Ambrogiano (Mateo). She was predeceased by her husband Giovanni in 1995; daughter Anna in 1993; son Mike in 1964; son Michele in 1939; and grandson Rick in 1983. Being the youngest of ten children Francesca was the last surviving sibling. Francesca was born on March 3, 1911, in Fossacesia Marina, Italy. She married Giovanni in 1930. In 1950 she and her three children joined her husband in Canada who immigrated here in 1949. During her lifetime, she endured hardships and times of sadness with strong will and faith. Francesca enjoyed tending her garden and visiting with her family and friends. She had a way of always making her grandchildren and great-grandchildren feel special. She will be missed for her grace, strength and courage. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday June 7, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E.) on Friday June 8, 2007, at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
