Obituary of Alicia Alvarado Pelias

Alicia Alvarado Pelias, beloved wife of Eliakim Pelias of Calgary, passed away on Monday, June 4, 2007 at the age of 55 years. Alicia was born on June 8, 1951 in the Philippines. She was sponsored by Eliakim Pelias to come to Canada for a better life and immigrated to Canada in 1978. She attended Immanuel Bible College in Cebu City, Philippines, from 1989 – 1993, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Alicia worked in the accounting department of the Carriage House Inn for twenty-five years. She loved swimming and all kinds of sports. Alicia was known for her faith and her love for her Lord and Saviour whom she loved to serve, especially through her church where she was very much involved. She always read the Bible before she went to bed and loved to rise very early in the morning to pray. She was a hardworking mother and LOVED her grandchildren. She could always be counted on when someone needed an extra hand. Besides her loving husband Eliakim, Alicia is survived by her children and their spouses, Glenn Samuel and Jenna Lynn Pelias, James Andrew Pelias, Elisa-Kim and Jonathan David Coe; and her two precious grandchildren, Mateo James Eliakim Pelias and Caelyn Treva Coe. She is also survived by four brothers and six sisters, Carlito, Maria Louisa, Nilo, Domingo Jr., Alma, and Mariafe, all of Canada and Eleanor, Theresa, Jose, and Thelma, all of the Philippines. She was predeceased by her parents Domingo and Olimpia Alvarado; and her sister Charlita. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Wednesday, June 6, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Midpark Christian Assembly (260 Midpark Blvd. S.E.) on Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
