Obituary of Jozef Kozole
Jozef Kozole, beloved husband of Ana Kozole of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2007 after a long and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 74 years.
Jozef was born in Dolenja Vas, Slovenia on February 3, 1933. He later immigrated to Canada in 1956. In 1959 Jozef married Ana in Montreal where he worked for Canadian Copper Refineries. The family came to Calgary in 1975 where Jozef worked for Blankert Masonary before going to work at the Calgary Separate School Board until his retirement in 1998. Throughout Jozef’s life he loved the outdoors whether spending time in his garden, hiking, or travelling with Ana, John, Linda and his grandchildren. He will always be remembered as a family oriented man who supported all of his son’s endeavours. Jozef loved to be with his grandsons playing ball, going for walks or just being with them. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.
Besides his loving wife, Ana, Jozef is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law John and Linda; and his grandchildren Ryan and Matthew. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters-in-law, Anton and Else and Alojz and Ingrid all of Nuremburg, Germany, and Ivan and Vida of Slovenia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family in Germany, Slovenia and Canada. Jozef was predeceased by his parents Janez and Neza; his daughter Mary who passed away in infancy; his sisters Marija, Justina and Rozika; and his brother Martin.
