Obituary of Mary Aletha Patel

Mary Aletha Patel passed away in Harare, Zimbabwe, on Wednesday May 30, 2007, at the age of 82 years. Mary was born on April 22, 1925, in Vila Perry, Mozambique, Africa. She was a proud Christian who, for over seventy-five years, placed serving her Lord first. Following the death of her beloved husband Paragji, she single-handedly raised her five sons and one daughter. Mary was a remarkable mother who nurtured her children’s growth without ever raising her voice. Her love and strength will be remembered forever by her family. Mary is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Manilal and Barbara of the UK, Balloo (Bernard) and Angela of Calgary, Krishna and Grace of the UK and Kenneth of South Africa; daughter Santie Layton of Zimbabwe; twenty grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister Anna; sister-in-law Winnie; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; son Albert; brother John; and daughters-in-law Thelma and Anna.
