Obituary of Ed Reid

It is with deep sadness that our family announces that Ed Reid, beloved husband, father and loyal friend, passed away suddenly at home on Saturday, May 26th, 2007. Ed was 68 years old and had retired in the fall of 2006 from a fulfilling career as a financial advisor for thirty-nine years. He was born in Blue Sky Alberta on July 2, 1938. Ed was raised by his loving grandparents, Bess and Bill Reid and often recalled the stories and songs of his youth and the Canadian landscape. He finally settled in Calgary where he attended Crescent Heights High School and met the love of his life, Bonnie Jean Ransom of Calgary. They were married in July of 1961. Ed’s family meant everything to him and he cherished the time with his wife, daughters and grandchildren. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Bonnie; daughters and son-in-law, Bridget and Bill Swagar, Robin Reid and Brad Harrison and Carolyn Hodge and Bryan Love; grandchildren, Ariana Hodge, Seranda and Reid Swagar, Nicolas Love; and brothers Roy Nystrom and Bill Reid and countless friends. Funeral Services will be held at Scarboro United Church (134 Scarboro Avenue S.W.) on Thursday May 31, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
