Obituary of Jean H. Baker

Jean Baker, beloved wife of fifty-six years of Brock Baker of Calgary, passed away peacefully on Saturday May 26, 2007, at the age of 78 years. Jean was born December 5, 1928, in Yorkton, SK, and after graduating from high school, attended a Business College and went on to hold a number of administrative positions. Jean and Brock were married in 1951 and raised their family in Winnipeg, Vancouver and Edmonton, before settling in Calgary in 1964. After retirement they spent many years wintering in Arizona. Jean was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to be surrounded by her family and friends. She was a wonderful caring lady who will be greatly missed by everyone. Jean will be lovingly remembered by her husband Brock; daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Bob Baker of High River and Donna and Brian Gies of Calgary; grandchildren, Shari (Paul) Wierenga, Lori (Doug) Arnott, Peter Gies, Kim (Josh) McDonald, Dale Gies, Michael Gies, and Kyle (Eilidh) Gies; her precious great-grandchildren, Aiden, Robbie, Andrew, Kieran, Miranda, Grace, Raelen and Cameron. She is also survived by her brothers Leslie (Joyce) Muir and Gerald (Karen) Muir, all of Yorkton; sister-in-law Marjorie Bartlett of Calgary; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents William and Jessie Muir; and brothers Ronald and Kenneth.
