Obituary of June Clackson

June Clackson, beloved wife of Bob Clackson of Calgary passed away on Friday, May 25, 2007 at the age of 68 years. June was born, raised and educated in Prince Albert, SK. She met her husband in Portage La Prairie, MB in 1958 and they were married there in 1959. June and Bob celebrated their forty-eighth year of marriage on March 6, 2007. She was a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker and worker. June worked for thirty years as a cashier, with the majority of those years at Safeway. She loved to travel and liked all sports. In her younger years she played golf, football and excelled in bowling, winning many individual and team awards. When June retired she enjoyed playing bingo with her friends. June will be sadly missed by her husband Bob; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert, David and Tammy all of Edmonton, AB and Brent of Vancouver; BC; one daughter, Linda Shura of Tillsonburg, ON; four grandchildren, Shakira and Cathyrn Clackson and Nicolas and Andrew Shura. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters, Fern and Bill of Saskatoon, SK, Marg of North Battleford, SK and Jack of Prince Albert, SK. June was predeceased by her mother Mildred, father Clifford and two brothers, Jim and Tom. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Thursday, May 31, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. The Clackson family would like to sincerely thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the Peter Lougheed Centre, the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the Care West Hospice for their kind and compassionate support during June’s illness.
