Obituary of Crisostomo Sr.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Diomedes M. Crisostomo, Sr. of Calgary on May 23, 2007 at the age of 82. Diomedes was born and educated in the Philippines where up until his retirement was a very successful and respected Civil Engineer. When he immigrated to Canada in 1985, he devoted his time to his family helping care for his grandchildren. Diomedes is survived by his eight children, Vella Bellaart (Tim), Myrna Rillera (Romy) of the Philippines, Grace Mamayson (Cesar), Diomedes C. Crisostomo, Jr. (Editha), Cecilia Cristobal (Emmanuel), Ida, Noel and Aimee; ten grandchildren who he was very proud of, Christopher, Stephen, Christina, Stephanie, Maryan, Redmond, Martin, Emily, Eli and Hanna. He will also be sadly missed by his sisters, Gloria Miranda (Simeon) of Nevada, Mariet Maderazo (Manuel) of California, Purificacion Granados and Matilde Elizon both of the Philippines, brothers and sisters in-law and numerous nephews and nieces. Diomedes was predeceased by his wife, Violeta Crisostomo on January 24, 2005. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway’s Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Saturday, May 26, 2007 and Monday, May 28, 2007 from 7:00pm to 9:00pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Catholic Church (5552 Madigan Drive N.E.) at 10:30am on Wednesday, May 30, 2007. Interment will follow at the Good Shepherd Catholic Cemetery on Garden Road. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family wishes to extend its sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre especially to Drs. Ruether and Burak and to Doreen McKinnon of the Palliative Care for their excellent care and for ensuring that Diomedes was able to spend the last days of his life in the comfort of his home surrounded by his loved ones.
