Obituary of Mary Edwards

Mary Edwards, beloved mother, grandmother and sister, passed away on Monday, May 21, 2007 at the age of 80 years. Mary was born on July 31, 1926 and raised in Calgary. She was a kind soul who possessed great patience and quiet humour. Mary’s greatest pleasures were spending time with her family and creating art in the form of paper tole and lace-making. She was predeceased in May 2005 by her husband Alan to whom she was married for fifty-seven years. Mary leaves to treasure her memory her son Wayne Edwards of Toronto, ON; daughters and sons-in-law Alana and Don Gelhorn of Hudson Bay, SK, Elaine and Barrie Hunt of Vancouver, BC, and Lyndsey and Mike Evans of Calgary; her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchild, Lane and Amy Gelhorn and Avery, Jon Gelhorn, Lauren Hunt, Brennin Evans, Tegan Evans, Marieve and Chloe and Elise Edwards. Mary will be missed by her sisters, Joy Wales, Bessie Sundberg and Audrey Bothwell; sisters and brothers-in-law, Connie and Bill Craig, Helen Lazelle, Winifred and Bill Marlow and Doug Brewer and Orville Knight; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her parents Maggie and John Dykes; brothers, John, Andrew and William Dykes and by her sisters Jean Sundberg and Marg Knight.
