Obituary of Marilyn Horne

Marilyn Horne, beloved wife of Jeff for thirty-two years and loving mother of Steve of Calgary, passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the age of 58 years. Marilyn’s early years were spent in Milo and after obtaining a degree in occupational therapy at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, she settled in Calgary. She worked for many years before stopping to raise a family. With her husband, son and many friends, Marilyn enjoyed a life filled with happy homemaking, hiking and camping, travelling and artistic pursuits. Her many paintings, works of paper tole and tole painting, wheat weaving and miniatures adorn the family home in Woodbine. Marilyn will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jeff and son Steve; her stepmother Marion Monner; her sisters, Pat (Dennis) Johnson of Langley, BC, Norma (Ron) Row of Leduc, AB; niece Terri; and nephews, Jason, Greg, Jesse, and Derek; as well as her aunts, uncles and many cousins. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents Wilbur and Louise. A Celebration of Marilyn’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Rosedale Hospice #900, 833 – 4 Avenue SW, Calgary, AB T2P 3T5 Telephone: (403) 263 – 4525.
