Obituary of Thomas Richard Rayton

Richard Rayton, who passed away quietly in the early hours of Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the age of 64 years. Tom was born in Calgary on March 8, 1943 and spent many successful years in the plastic/manufacturing industry. He was a successful entrepreneur who created and operated Rayton Packaging until his retirement in 1992 but Tom felt his greatest accomplishments in life were his friends, his family and the many relationships developed throughout his lifetime. Tom’s passions included golf, a great love of music and traveling with friends and family to his condo in Arizona. “Well Tom, now all the days are warm and sunny, the nights cool and sweet, the golf ball travels straight and long every time and the sound of music and laughter fills the air. You are home”! Tom will be sadly missed by his beloved life time partner, Betty-Lou Lloyd; his sisters, Marlene (Vance) Barry and Pat (Polly) Bellingham; his brothers, Bill (Shirley) Rayton, Ron (Bonnie) Rayton and Bob (Ede) Rayton as well as many treasured nieces and nephews. Tom was predeceased by his sister Barb (Walt) Goodkey; his mother Laetitia and his father Richard. A Celebration of Tom’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) on Saturday, May 26, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. Tom’s family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre for their compassionate care and support during his illness.
