Obituary of Frank Russ Kindred

Russ “Papa” Kindred, beloved husband of Avril Kindred of Calgary passed away peacefully on Friday, May 18, 2007 at the age of 65 years. Born in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan on July 6, 1941, Russ did all of his growing up there until he wed his high school sweetheart, Avril on December 7, 1963. Russ will be remembered by his friends and family as a gifted athlete, an articulate speaker, and a leader committed to his opinion. Always the generous, he put people first, and put himself second. Russ is survived by his wife Avril; his son Steven; his daughters, Kelly and Nicole; and his only sister Patricia Burke. Papa’s “amour proper” came from his three wonderful grandchildren, Morgan, whom he raised as his own, refreshing young Brittany, and his weekend wingman Mason (Mace). Russ will also be missed by his daughter-in-law Adrienne; his brother-in-law Dale Burke; his niece Stacey Burke; and the entire Crippen and Hunt clans, with whom he shared so many enjoyable times. Russ was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Larrie Kindred. Russ and Avril’s partnership of 43 years has truly forged the Kindred embodiment for generations to come. Well done Dad!
