Dear Stephen & family,
My heart breaks for you & the kids that Lori is gone so soon. We haven’t been close since nursing school, but I so loved seeing the kids grow over the years (through Facebook & Christmas cards). Lori’s kind, sweet, generous soul will live on in you & your children. Love & condolences to you, Chelsea, Owen & Erik.
Steve and family,
Very saddened to hear of Lori’s passing. May her memory keep you strong in this difficult time. Ironic how our kids names always seemed to be the same or similar….if we would have had a third, I’m sure he or she would have been named Erik or Erika. Take care……we are thinking of you.

I knew Lori only for a few months as I was a practicum student at AHS in the Policy dept. a few years ago. I still think of her from time to time because she left a big imprint on my practicum experience. Lori was so naturally kind, caring, sweet and incredibly insightful. She talked about her family with so much pride and was someone I was immediately drawn to because she gave off the energy of being able to handle every situation with empathy and grace.
I’m so sorry for your families loss as it is truly a terrible loss. May your memories get you through the hard days and your families love comfort one another during this time.
– Whitney

I never had the pleasure of meeting Lori but I’m sure she was an amazing person and will be greatly missed. Warm thoughts and my condolences for you and your family Steve.
We got the pleasure of working closely with Lori. She has been deeply missed since her illness and we all are immensely saddened at her passing. Our hearts go out to Steve and their 3 children. Someone passed on this poem I’d like to share:
Grief never ends……
but it changes.
It is a passage,
not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness
nor a lack of faith…….
it is the price of love.
And Lori was deeply loved – our deepest condolences. From the Policy Team.
To all of Lori’s family
Our hearts are saddened with the news of Lori’s death. We are thinking of you.

Steve, Chelsea, Owen and Eric – I am so very sad to hear of Lori’s passing. I will always cherish the years we worked together at Transitiin Services. We certainly bonded as prairie farm girls. Lori was hardworking, steady, articulate and passionate. She loved her work but loved her family even more. She was so proud of you children and not just of your accomplishments but the character you all developed. Steve, she always talked about you as a true partner – in it together. I both admired and loved her. I am so sorry I will not be able to attend the service as I am out of the country. Please know that you are in my thoughts and I will always remember Lori with a smile. Oh my gosh, Wopnford family, we have just learned of Lori’s passing, and are truly devastated for you. All of us, Cameron, Hailey, Stu, and Cara, were so closely intertwined with members of your family over the years between Nickle, Scarlett and Winsport. Yet I always imagined getting closer with Lori. I had thought remission was the picture right now, so this is a shock and wake up call to not let time slip by. She was a beautiful woman, through and through, and we are so sorry that you have had to say goodbye so early. Please accept our thoughts and prayers. Cara
Lori was a very special person. Lori stared in Policy 2 weeks before I did. She was a kind soul and was an ear for me when my own mother was ailing. She was very proud of her family and often spoke of them. The universe will miss Lori.
We are so sorry about your loss! Heaven is rejoicing as she is home!
Love, The Fisks
Steve, I have no words so express how sorry I am to hear about Lori’s passing. I have such fond memories of our many conversations and time spent laughing together. My heart breaks for you, Chelsea, Owen & Eric. I remember stopping in for visits when you lived in Minnedosa & Portage. One memory that stands out is of Lori and I having tea with Chelsea when she was a little girl. Lori and I had many conversations on how we wanted to raise our children to be loving, strong adults. This special tea time was when we were engaging Chelsea to have real conversation around the table. Right now, I can hear Lori’s laugh ring through the air. She was a beautiful person.
My deepest condolences to Lori’s family during this most difficult time. I had the privilege of growing up with Lori in Carman. A kind, strong and sincere woman.
