Veronica Belke

Obituary of Veronica Belke

Veronica Kathleen; her husband Gus called her his “little pint”, his sweetheart of sixty years fought a courageous battle against the effects of a stroke, which left her unable to do what she lived and breathed for, that was, to give her family everything she had. On Tuesday, May 15, 2007, her precious heart stopped. Our mom, grandma and great-grandma loved her role as homemaker and her family were the recipients of delicious meals, beautifully sewn clothes, gentle nursing care and a sense of humour which brightened our days. She made us all feel special by listening to our heartfelt wishes and fulfilling them unselfishly. She loved little children and often said they were closest to God. We will always be blessed with those memories. She will be greatly missed by her devoted husband, Gus Belke; her two daughters and son-in-law, Cheryl and Frank Bolton, and Pam Belke; her grandchildren, Brad & Lisa Bolton, Michael Bolton, Valerie Bolton, Alicia & Chris Bedford, Angie Smith and finally by her great-grandchildren: Brooke, Emma, Aidan, Ciaran, Tyeesha and Reid. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church (2223 – 34th Street S.W.) on Wednesday, May 23, 2007 at 1:00 p.m.. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to thank everyone who cared for our mom in a loving way during her last few, very difficult years. Special thanks go out to her sister Patricia McLean and her niece Marcella McLean who visited her faithfully during that time. In living memory of Veronica Belke, a tree will be planted at Fish Creek Provincial Park by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES Park Memorial Chapel, 5008 ELBOW DRIVE S.W. Telephone: (403) 243-8200.
