Obituary of Leo Silberman

Leo Silberman beloved husband of Mrs. Lily Silberman of Calgary, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2007 at the age of 94 years. Leo was born on November 8, 1912 in Katowitz Poland. On May 15, 1946 Leo married his beloved, Lily and in 1953 they came to Canada. For the past thirty-nine years he owned and operated the Cecil Hotel in Calgary. Leo was a survivor of Auschwitz Birkenau and a long time member of the Beth Tzedec Congregation. Besides his loving wife Lily, Leo is also survived by his son Sam Silberman and by his three grandchildren, Joel, Reesa and Debra. Funeral Services will be held at the Beth Tzedec Synogogue, (1325 Glenmore Trail S.W.) today, May 16, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at the Jewish Cemetery (30th Avenue & Erlton Street S.W.). The family wishes to thank the staff of Unit 47 at the Rockyview General Hospital for the exceptional care they gave Leo.
