Obituary of James Scott

Jim passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at the age of 64 years, surrounded by his entire family, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Jim will be lovingly remembered by his wife of forty-five years Ruth Scott and his sister Joan Scott; children and their spouses, Michele (Gary) Marsh, Linda (Tim) Kohn, Donna (Keith) Parkman, Lisa (Noel) Pacheco, James (Eva) Scott, and Nicole (Shawn) Taillon; grandchildren, Chris (Christy), Darryl, Courtney, Timothy, Andrew, Jonathan, Derek, Amanda, Keenan, Krispin, Paloma, and Atiana; great-grandson Eric; his dog Bailey; and many special friends and family. He was predeceased by his father William (Bill); and mother Hilda. Jim has left an amazing legacy. Jim was born on August 17, 1942 in Moncton, NB and his family moved to Prince Edward Island shortly after he was born, where he was raised. He married the love of his life Ruth (Corbett) on June 23, 1962. In 1975 they moved their family to Calgary where they raised their six children. Jim worked in the Alberta Oil Industry for thirty years and in his spare time he loved to travel, which included numerous visits to PEI, fishing, camping and boating. Jim touched the lives of many people and he will be deeply missed. The family would like to thank all the friends that came to the house and hospital to visit Jim, and a special thanks to those who traveled great distances to be here. We would also like to recognize and thank, Sue Pierce RN as well as the Staff at the Rockyview Palliative Care. “God saw you getting tired when a cure was not to be. So he closed his arms around you and whispered “Come with Me”. You didn’t deserve what you went through so he gave you a rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, he only takes the best.” Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Monday, May 14, 2007 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
