Obituary of Walter Klippert

Walter Alexander Klippert passed away on Monday, April 30, 2007 at the age of 84 years. Walter was born in Kindersley, Sask. on April 28, 1923 and moved to Calgary with his family in 1928. He served with the Canadian Army Medical Corps in England during World War II and worked for Jenkins Groceteria upon his return. In 1952 he began working as a letter carrier for Canada Post, delivering the mail in the Shaganappi and Upper Scarboro areas of Calgary until his retirement in 1985. Walter is survived by his wife Phyllis (nee Spielman) and his son Donald of Calgary; one brother-in-law; nine sisters-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and their children. He was predeceased by his parents, Merton and Lydia; by his sister Leah and brothers Bill, Elmer, Fred, Jack, Mert, Howie and Everett. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all those who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, May 11, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Howard Mastin, Presider.
