Obituary of Leslie Langston

Leslie Maurice Langston beloved husband for sixty years of Margaret Langston of Calgary passed away with his family at his side on Friday, May 4, 2007 at the age of 86 years. A farm boy from Saskatchewan, Leslie served in the Air force Squadron 418 and 410 from August 1941 to September 1945. His tours included Canada, England, France and Holland (the European Theatre of Operations) as a Radio Operator and Navigator. Following his discharge, Leslie joined the Cominco Company in October 1945, where he worked for nearly thirty-nine years. Les’ passion was playing golf and he was a member of the Highwood Golf and Country Club from 1962 to 2006. He loved gardening and was a master at growing tomatoes. Leslie also took up the art of wine making and was a connoisseur. Besides his loving wife Margaret, Leslie is survived by one son Greg Langston of Quesnel, BC; one daughter and son-in-law Gail and Merv Page of Turner Valley; five grandchildren, Kim (Jaydel) Gluckie, Jamie (Todd) Myles, Quinn Marina Page, Kristi Langston (Matt Fauth) and Gregory Langston; two great-granddaughters, Eva and Sophia Gluckie and by many nieces, nephews and many good friends. He was predeceased by his parents, three brothers and four sisters. Funeral Services will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church (903 – 75th Avenue S.W.) on Wednesday, May 9, 2007 at 12:30p.m Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery in the Field of Honour.
