Obituary of Reginald Sheldon Cecil
Reginald Sheldon Cecil born on January 17, 1973 in Banff, but raised on the Stoney Indian Reserve. He has been called home by our Creator on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the age of 34 years.
He spent most of his life on the reserve attending the Morley Community School. After he left school he went to work doing odd jobs. Reginald worked for K & B as a carpenter for two years before going to the Chiniki Public Works Department driving the Grader, keeping the roads in driving condition. He was a kind-hearted, loving man who would help people in need that he met in his travels. Reginald was taught about outdoor living and had respect for nature.
Reginald leaves behind to mourn his common-law wife Valerie Chiniquay; his two sons Duane and Dallas; a step-daughter Vanessa Chiniquay; three brothers Keith (Jubileen), Randall (Cynthia), and Dalroy; four sisters Alnora, Cecelia, Bernadine (Charles), and Diandra (Jesse); aunties, Mabel, Marlene, Marvelene; uncles, Johnston, Fred (Beatrice), Gerald (Jenny), Franck, Irby, Clarence (Margaret) and Milan. He is also survived by his Grandmothers, Eva LaBelle and Nora Stevens; the Amos family, numerous cousins, nephews and nieces; as well as four grandchildren, God parents Verda and Joe and Velma and Gerald; friends and relatives from Eden Valley, Big Horn, Siksika, Hobbema and Morley. Reginald was predeceased by his parents David and Joan Cecil in 2003 and 1999, two brothers Laurie in 1971, Duane D. 1988, and a sister Jacqueline 2005, two nephews, grandparents, Gordon and Eveline Cecil in 1992 and 1989, and Isaiah and Lucy Powderface in 1991 and 1962, adopted brother Mitchell Lefthand in 2002.
Wake Services will be held at the residence of Reginald (Morley, AB) on Wednesday and Thursday, May 2 and 3, 2007. Prayer Services will be celebrated at the Morley United Church on Friday May 4, 2007 at 12:30 p.m. with Funeral Services following at the Morley Gymnasium (Morley, AB).
