Obituary of Peter Raffin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Peter Raffin, on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at the age of 79 years after an extended illness. Peter passed away peacefully, with all his family at his side. Peter was born in Nordegg Alberta on January 31, 1928 where he grew up and met his lifetime friend and partner Phyllis, of 58 years, whom he married in 1949. They moved to Calgary in 1950 where they made permanent residence. Peter founded Raffin Electric in 1955, which became his lifetime work. He was well known and a highly respected member of the Calgary business community and took pride in everything he accomplished. Peter was also a long-time member of the Calgary Golf and Country Club, and the Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta. Peter will be deeply missed by his wife Phyllis; his son and daughter-in-law Kim and Louise; his daughter and son-in-law Shelley and Paul; his two loving grandchildren Justin and Angela; his sister Kay; his brother Lawrence (Ethel); and many nieces and nephews and extended family and friends. Peter was predeceased by his father Redento and his mother Angelina. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Sunday, May 6, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Pius X Catholic Church (2424 – 24th Avenue N.W.) on Monday, May 7, 2007, at 11.30 am.
