Obituary of Salvatore Iervasi

It is with great sadness our Dad left us on Sunday, April 29, 2007, at the age of 72 years, without realizing his lifelong dream to live in the Okanagan Valley. Dad was born in Gioiosa Ionica, Calabria Italy on May 31, 1934. He came to Calgary in 1954. His career started at the Palliser Hotel, and then he went into the construction business, finishing his last working years 1974 – 1996 and retiring from the Grace hospital. Gardening was Dad’s passion (he was always tanned) along with fishing, camping and being with his family. He will always be remembered for his generosity and the unconditional love he had for all his family and friends. He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Diane and Don, Janet and Steen, and Dino and Lorrie. Opa and Nonno will be truly missed by Sarah-Jade, Jonathan, Natasha, Aimee, Daina, and Emilie. He leaves behind his brothers, Natale, Rocco, Vincent, and Pasquale; and his sister Rosa. Dad and Opa always held a special love for Tammy and Craig, Kallum, Jenise, Matthew and Liam. He was predeceased by his father Dominico; mother Marianna; and siblings, Emanuel, Giuseppe, Maria and Mella.
