Obituary of Walter Wasylyk

Walter Wasylyk passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday, April 30, 2007 at the age of 75 years. Walter was born and raised in the Redwater, AB area where he began his career with Imperial Oil in 1956. His career took him to Edmonton and Calgary where he retired in 1986. Walter had a great passion for gardening and puttering in the yard in both Calgary and at the lake. He also enjoyed travelling, but especially loved to be with family and follow his grandchildren’s activities. Walter will be missed by his loving wife Carol; as well as his children, Bryan (Shannon) Wasylyk; and their children Lindsay (Steven) Gabrielle, Barry, Brett and Taylor, Michael (Brenda) Wasylyk; and their daughter Kirsty; Lori (Gordon) Horne and their children Sara, Amy, Ryan, Kendall and Jonathan, Robin Wyss and son Kirk. He is also survived by his sister Mary (Nick) Marchak; and his brother Mike. Walter was predeceased by his first wife Mary Louise, his parents John and Anna Wasylyk, his brothers Henry and Eugene, and sister Effie Stafford. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Friday, May 4, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
