Obituary of Jim Goff

James “Jim” Goff of Calgary passed away on Saturday, April 28, 2007 at the age of 92 years. James R. Goff was born in Whitney Pier, Sydney Nova Scotia on December 25, 1914. He served as a Flight Lieutenant from 1942 to 1946. After leaving the RCAF Jim attended college at St. Xavier University in Nova Scotia and he completed his degree in Electrical Engineering at Nova Scotia Technical College. Jim was a long time resident of Calgary and he worked for Calgary Power all of his professional life, in Calgary. Jim was proud to be a life time member of the Professional Engineers Society (APEGGA). He was an avid skier and ice skater well into his eighties and he also enjoyed photography and music. Jim was a member of St. Gerard’s Parish. Jim is survived by two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roderick Goff and Leo and Agnes Goff and by his sister Patricia Martin. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
