Obituary of Herbert Dippel

It is with profound sadness that the family of Herbert Dippel announces his sudden passing on April 26, 2007. His light has gone out but will forever shine in our hearts. We will always remember and be forever grateful for knowing such a kind and gentle man. He touched many lives and will be dearly missed. Herb was born in Calgary and lived here most of his life. He was a long time employee of CP Rail and spent 11 years in Vancouver with VIA Rail. Herb loved all sports but golf was his true passion. He was a gifted sculptor and crafted many beautiful pieces that reflected his love of the Old West. Herb will be best remembered as the “thinker”, a no-nonsense man whose few words were riveting and delivered with a wry punch. Herb is survived by his loving wife Diane, his sister Janet (Gary) Weisner, his brother Norm (Olga) Dippel and their families, his sister in-law Linda Corbeil, bothers-in-law Frank Corbeil (Mary Beth) and Mike (Cindy) Corbeil and their families. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces, and many close friends, especially Rick Binczak. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Amy and Peter Dippel. A Celebration of Herbert’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Thursday, May 3, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
