Obituary of Jack Lloyd Huntley
Jack Huntley, beloved husband of Margaret Huntley of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the age of 84 years.
Jack was born on August 8, 1922 and grew up in Southern Alberta. WWII was a defining time of his life, and he took great pride in his active role with the 29th Canadian Alberta Armoured Reconnaissance Corp. He married his war bride Margaret in 1943 in England. Following the war, he worked for McGavin’s Bakery for fourteen years and later for Spy Hill Correctional Centre until his retirement at age sixty. Jack was accepting and respectful of everyone, but for him, family came first. He was always very proud of his family and was a great provider for them. He was also a self-taught oil painter.
Besides his loving wife, Jack is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Lloyd and Linda Huntley of Calgary; two daughters and a son-in-law, Patricia Dauphinee of Prince George, BC, Kathy and Brad Hubbard of Calgary; six grandchildren, Christie (Mike) Johnson, Andrew (Nu) Rayner, Lee-Ann (Travis) Ostash, David (Hilary) Huntley, Matthew Huntley, and Joey Hubbard. He is also survived by his twin sister Jill Walker; and sister-in-law Hazel Huntley.
