Obituary of Georgette Pearl Lambert

Georgette Lambert, beloved wife of Roland Lambert of Calgary, passed away peacefully and in the company of her family on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at the age of 73 years. Georgette was born in Beaumont, Alberta, the fifth child of Paul-Emile and Rachel Bérubé (née Bilodeau). She married the love of her life, Roland Lambert, at the tender age of 16, on April 11, 1950. Education was always very important to Georgette. After she sent the last of her five children off to school, she herself returned to school to complete her high school education. Upon obtaining her Bachelor of Education degree at the University of Calgary, all seven family members had one or more university degrees. Georgette had a kind and generous spirit and loved children. She taught elementary school in Calgary for 20 years, from 1969 to 1988. Besides her loving husband, Georgette is also survived by her children: Linda (Harold Whittaker), Bernard (Caroline), Richard (May), Martin (Michelle) and Venita (Ross Matthews), all of Calgary; and by grandchildren Denis, Kevin, Brianne, Paul, Shannon, Michael, Alison, Warren, Nicolette and Laura. She is also survived by her siblings: Marie-Rose (Laurent Goudreau (d)) of Beaumont, Solange (Alexander Fika) of Sherwood Park, Claude Bérubé (Lorraine) of Beaumont, Euclide Bérubé (Léah) of Edmonton and Gerald Bérubé (Patricia) of Whitehorse, YT, her sisters-in-law Marguerite (Daniel Bérubé (d)), Cécile (Rodolphe Bérubé (d)), Muriel Lambert and Isabelle (Armel Lambert (d)), and numerous nieces and nephews. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Crowfoot Chapel (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.) on Tuesday, April 24, 2007 from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. Prayers and Tributes will be held thereafter at the same location commencing at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Luke’s Catholic Church (corner of Northmount Drive and Northland Drive N.W.) on Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. David Meadows, Presider. Graveside service to follow at approximately 1:30 p.m. at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens (Lower Springbank Road and 17th Avenue S.W.).
