Obituary of Brenda Jensen

Brenda Jensen of Calgary passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at the age of 76 years, after a long and courageous battle with multiple sclerosis. As her world narrowed, she kept her sense of humour and continued to see beauty in life. Brenda was born on August 7, 1930 in London, England. During WWII, she and her family were evacuated from London and moved to the English countryside. They later came to Canada when Brenda was in her late teens. Brenda met her husband while she was working at Colpitts Dairy Farm. She lived the rest of her life in and around Calgary and the Red Deer Lake area. She loved to walk, garden, listen to music, entertain, play cards, knit and create petit points. Brenda had a tremendous love for children, dogs, cats, and horses, and was also a huge lover of nature, especially flowers and birds. She was caring, kind, comforting, generous and compassionate and always saw the best in others. Brenda took time to “smell the roses”. She took pleasure in attending to ‘the details’ and making things beautiful. She was a proud homemaker who loved to bake, and was particularly known for her many recipes, especially her famous scones with currants. Brenda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christina and Bob Arnold; as well as four siblings, Eileen Dixon, Margaret Tothe, Pat (Stu) Roberts, and Martin (Faye) Mahoney; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her husband Neils Kristian; and four siblings, Terry (Svend) Jensen, Joan (John) Shaw, Brian Mahoney, and Dennis (Bernice) Mahoney. At Brenda’s request no service will be held.
