Obituary of Sharon Chiniquay

Sharon Chiniquay of Morley was called home unexpectedly by our Creator, at the Foothills Hospital, on Wednesday April 18, 2007, at the age of 52 years. Sharon was born on May 12, 1954, in Morley, and was raised on the Morley Reserve. She received her education at the Morley Residential School and then Springbank High School. She is survived by her beloved husband of thirty-seven years, Paul; son Philip (Samantha); daughters Elisa (Darren) and Brigette. She will be greatly missed by her ten grandsons, Nikki, Darius, Christian, Lane, Jayden, Chayce, O’Reilly, Samuel, Johnny and Ty Liam; one granddaughter Monica; and special Grandson Brodie. She also leaves to mourn, her mother Dorris Rollinmud; sister Winnie (Jess); only brother Myron (Stacey); aunties Helen (John), Rhonda, Yvonne (David), Mary-Ann Fox, Ramona, Christine and Clara; uncles George (Sheila), Roland and Sykes (Wanita); adopted uncle Melvin (Georgina) Solloway from Siksika; sisters-in-law Helene and Winnie; brothers-in-law Mac (Georgie), Walter (Helen), Lawrence and Frank (Marjorie). Also in mourning are numerous nieces, nephews and cousins from the Beaver, Bearspaw, Chiniquay, Hunter, Labelle, Rollinmud, Powderface, Young, Kaquitts and Wesley families from Eden Valley, Bighorn and Morley. Sharon was the great-granddaughter of the late and well known John Hunter and also great-great-granddaughter of Issac Rollinmud. She was predeceased by her stillborn daughter Pauline (1971); sisters Adrienne (1989), Corrine (1994); father Samuel (1982); paternal grandparents Harrison (1985) and Becky (1982) Powderface; adopted father Herman Collins (2002) and maternal grandparents George (1984) and Georgie (1954) Rollinmud; father-in-law John (1991); and mother-in-law Sarah (1996) Chiniquay. We, the family, greatly apologize to anyone we may have missed. Wake Services will be held on Saturday April 21, and Sunday April 22, 2007, at the residence of Paul Chiniquay, Morley, AB.
