Obituary of Doreen Shackell

Doreen Shackell passed away peacefully in the presence of our Lord on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in Vancouver, BC at the age of 92 years. Doreen “Dola” was born to Bill and Bridget Cummins in Calgary on October 2, 1914. She spent many years involved in the directorship of the Shamrock Hotel. Doreen is survived by her sisters, Stella Jordan of Calgary, Patricia Hall of Vancouver and Bernadette Roy of Edmonton and by many loving nieces and nephews and their families. Doreen was predeceased by her husbands, James McConnell and Claude Shackell. A Memorial Service will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
