Obituary of Robert Jack Patrick Dillon

Bob Dillon, beloved husband of Diane Dillon of Calgary, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2007 at the age of 69 years. Bob was born in Winnipeg, MB on August 28, 1937. At the age of fourteen his family moved to Medicine Hat. As a young man, Bob moved to Calgary where he lived for the most part until his passing. Bob’s career was sales-oriented and he spent a number of years in the Oil and Gas Industry and in Real Estate, working for a number of brokers. At the age of fifty-five, he got the calling to attend the U of C and studied Commerce for a year. The last fifteen years were spent working part-time for Southland Transportation as a School Bus Driver, as well as keeping active with Real Estate. Bob met Diane late in life, and they were married in June of 1996. Although their time together was short, Bob enjoyed their blended families. Bob’s kindness and gentle nature touched many people of all ages throughout his lifetime and he will be greatly missed by all. Bob and Diane had just returned from spending three months in Mazatlan where they enjoyed together a peek at retirement. Besides his loving wife Diane, Bob is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Julie of Cincinnati; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Deborah and Jim, Samantha and John, and Jamey, all of Calgary; and six grandchildren with one great-grandchild soon to be born. Bob’s blended family also included Diane’s Mom and Dad as well as her brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews who welcomed Bob into their families with open arms. A Celebration of Bob’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
