Obituary of Louis Alfred Clement

Lou passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on Friday, April 13, 2007. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife of forty-nine years, Joan (nee Krueger); his daughter Pat Mellor and her children Brittany and Taylor; his daughter Susan (Bryce) McDougall and their children, Erin, Riley and Madison; and his son Craig (Jodine) and their children Sydni and Jacob. Lou will also be remembered by his mother Marie-Marthe (nee Bourassa); sisters, Fernie, Rollie (Emile) and Jocelyn (Brian); brothers, Claude, Paul (Diane), Marcel (Val), and Rheal (Helen); and sister-in-law Grace. He was predeceased by his father Mathias; brother Danny; sister-in-law Audrey; and brother-in-law Al Dorn. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Lou was born in St. Agathe, MB and moved to Alberta as a young man where he settled in Edmonton and was employed in the Woodwards Meat Department for twenty-five years. He then fulfilled one of his dreams of owning his own business, a grocery store in St. Albert, AB. After ten years, the family relocated to Winnipeg, where Lou took on a position at Westfair Foods. In 1989, Lou was transferred to Calgary and continued working with the company until his retirement, after which he joined TNT Foods until his passing. Lou enjoyed keeping in shape, whether it was running or going to the gym. He also loved traveling to warm destinations, but first and foremost, enjoyed being surrounded by his grandchildren, whether it was taking them for long bicycle rides or trips to the park. “May the sun always shine on you Dad!” A Celebration of Lou’s Life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S, Fish Creek Chapel (14441 Bannister Road S.E.) on Friday, April 20, 2007 at 2:30 p.m with Deacon Tony Klein, Presider.
