Obituary of Lillian Cooper

It is with deep regret that the children and grandchildren of Lillian Cooper announce her passing on Saturday, April 14, 2007 at the age of 91 years. Lillian was born in Sunnynook, Alberta and was one of eight children born to John and Hannah Anderson. After attending school in Camrose, AB, Lillian began her first teaching career in a one room school in southern Alberta. She moved to Calgary and while working at the Bay, she met and married Don on February 4, 1946 and they were blessed with three children. Lillian returned to teaching and taught at Ramsey and Glamorgan schools in Calgary. Upon retiring from teaching she started a new career at the Calgary Public School Board Library Services Division. Lillian completely retired in 1983 and she and her husband Don spent the next sixteen years in happy retirement until his passing. Her family was her greatest joy. Lillian is survived by her dearly loved children, Don (Marcy), Douglas (Gayle), Jo-Anne, and her grandchildren Ashley and Kelsey, all of Calgary. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Don in 1999. A Private Family Service will be held. The family wishes to express their gratitude for the compassionate care that Lillian and the family received by the staff of the Chinook Hospice.
