Obituary of Hope Lyon Casquenette`

Hope Casquenette (nee Harrison), beloved wife of Harold Casquenette died peacefully, April 5, 2007 at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, AB. Hope was born in Calgary January 16, 1920. She grew up in the Airdrie area and then settled east of Carstairs after marriage to John Gordon Hoskin in November 1939. They were blessed with five children; Patricia, Ralph (died in infancy), Albert, Dorothy, and John. They continued farming until 1968 when Gordon died at age 53. With family all grown, Hope returned to school and graduated from Mount Royal College on the President’s Honour Roll. Hope then resided in Calgary, predeceased by Lawrence Lamarche whom she married in 1975 and Art Koch whom she married in 1999. Her life was enriched with family and friends and a zest for life, and her involvement with the Calgary Life Enrichment Centre. Her book “Light of Hope” was published in December 2006. She leaves to mourn her husband Harold Casquenette; her children Patricia Usher (Howard), Albert Hoskin, Dorothy Hoskin, and John Hoskin; six grand children; nine great grand children; and one great great grandchild. Funeral Services will be held at West Irricana United Church (East from Airdrie on S.D. 567 (17 km) or west from Irricanna on S.D. 567 (9min)) on April 28, 2007 at 1:00 p.m., with Dr. Herman Aaftink, Presider.
