Obituary of Ada McIver

Ada Jessie McIver of Calgary passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2007 at the age of 95 years. Ada was born in Morrin Alberta on June 10, 1911. She lived there until she was 9 years old, and then moved to Calgary. On September 5, 1934 Ada and Ken married. They raised two girls, Phyllis and Loretta. Ada loved to sew for the girls and later the grandchildren. After Ken retired they traveled the world together. Her later years were spent at the Eau Claire Retirement Residence where she loved to talk about her travels. Ada is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Loretta and Wilf Shaw; by her seven grandchildren, Marlene (Nick) Janissen, Kevin (Lenora) Neufeld, Cindy (Steve) Smith, Paul Dyck, Lowell (Lucy) Dyck, Jason (Jennifer) Dyck, and Lyndon (Sharon) Dyck, by her twelve great- grandchildren and her son-in-law Peter Dyck. She was predeceased by her husband Ken and by her brother Gibbs Baxter and her daughter Phyllis Dyck. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Park Memorial Chapel (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.) on Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at First Alliance Church (12345 – 40th Street S.E.) on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 1:00 p.m. A Family Graveside Service will be held at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
