Obituary of Michael Dowd

Michael F. Dowd beloved husband of Phyllis Dowd of Calgary, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 5, 2007 at the age of 64 years after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Mike was born in Sydney Nova Scotia, but grew up in Toronto where he worked in the metal industry for many years. In the late seventies he moved to Calgary making it his home, again working in the metal industry. Mike was a long time member and supporter of the 154 Ogden Legion, he was an avid gardener, an outdoorsman and a wood worker. Mike will be sadly missed by his wife Phyllis; his two sisters, Judy Smith and Barb Cunningham and her partner Rick of Ontario; his niece Kristi; his two nephews Jeffrey and Jarret; by his cousins, Glorya and Grahame Woods, John McLaren and by Uncle Howard F. Pole, 101 years young. He will also be loving remembered by his stepchildren, Dallas and David Magrum and Wade and Kim Conners; grandchildren, Tammy and Cody; his great grandson Caiden; his brother-in-law Dick Bartsch; numerous nieces and nephews in Alberta and by his beloved dog Skooter. Mike will be fondly remembered by friends and colleagues in and around Toronto. He was predeceased by his parents Dorothy (Tippy) (nee Pole) and Farquhar W. Dowd.
