Obituary of Bud Barker

Bud passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, April 1, 2007 at the age of 77 years. Bud will be lovingly remembered by his best friend, caregiver and partner of thirty-five years, Carol Hutchinson and her daughter Anne Hutchinson (Tony Tikusis). He is also survived by his children, Carolyn, Deborah, Peggy, Susan, Kelly, William and John as well as grandchildren and great-grandchildren, all residing in Ontario. Bud was a long time, dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 284. Bud and Carol enjoyed a life of singing and telling jokes during their dance of life together. Bud’s favourite line was “You Gotta Have a Laugh”. In respecting Bud’s wishes no funeral service will be held. A Celebration of his Life will be announced at a later date. The family wishes to thank Dr. Grace Le, Dr. D. Hogan; nurses Chris and Katherine of The Bethany Care Centre and the doctors and nurses at the Foothills Hospital for their excellent care during Bud’s illness.
