Obituary of Patricia Frances Mae McDonald

Born Patricia Frances Mae McDonald (nee Onespot) of T’suu T’ina Nation, AB, known and loved by all as “Mae”. Mae passed away surrounded by her loving family at the Rockyview General Hospital on Saturday, September 30, 2006 at the age of 70. Mae suffered with emphysema and C.O.P.D for many years. In spite of her illness, her amazing strength and courage was an inspiration to everyone she came in contact with. Mae was born to Frank and Mary Onespot of the Tsuu T’ina Nation. She received her education on the Tsuu T’ina Reserve and also in Calgary, AB. In 1954, she married her best friend Gib McDonald; together they raised three children and shared fifty-two wonderful years of marriage. Mae was not just an extraordinary homemaker, wife, and mother; she was also a talented artist. She was a gifted, loving, strong, beautiful woman who gave unconditional love and touched every heart she met. Mae was a true angel who always had a smile for everyone. She led an honest and faithful journey in life. Mae is survived by her loving husband Gilbert; son Nelson (Lise); two daughters, Denise and Jeanine; sister Agnes Thomas; two brothers, Arthur (Ida) Onespot and Reggie (Patsy) Onespot. She is also survived by five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mae was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Mary Onespot; sisters, Lottie, Olive, Marjorie, Marion, and Evelyn; and sister-in-law Mrs. Lottie Onespot. Wake Services will be held at the residence of Mrs. McDonald, 2862 Wintergreen Road, (Bragg Creek, Tsuu T’ina Nation, AB) on Monday, October 2, 2006 and Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at St. Barnabas’ Anglican Church (Tsuu T’ina Nation) on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m with the Rev. George Belcher, Presider. Graveside Service to follow at Tsuu T’ina Cemetery (T’suu T’ina Nation, AB). Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
