Obituary of Theodor Melnyk
Theodor Melnyk, beloved husband of Maria Melnyk of Calgary, passed away on Wednesday March 28, 2007, at the age of 83 years.
Theodor was born on October 11, 1923, in the village of Lytwyniw, Ukraine. Theodor and Maria immigrated to Canada in 1950 to join his sister Anna. He was employed by Burns Foods until his retirement in 1986.
Besides his loving wife Maria, Theodor is survived by his children Ann (Jacques) Rioux, Irene Melnyk, and Peter Melnyk (Christina – Derek and Jennifer), all of Calgary; as well as three grandsons, Robert, Michael and Dallas; and one great grandson, Deklan. He will also be fondly remembered by his niece Marie Russo and her family and his nephew Jozef Fiolek. Theodor was predeceased by his sister Anna in 2000; his parents, sisters and brother in Ukraine.
Friends and Relatives are invited to prayers at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (729 – 6th Street N.E.) on Sunday April 1, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church (729 – 6th Street N.E.) on Monday April 2, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Serhiy Harahuc, Celebrant. Graveside Service to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com.
