Obituary of Elizabeth Ann Wingert

It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Wingert of Calgary announce her peaceful passing on Monday, March 26, 2007 at the age of 60 years from a long battle with cancer. Elizabeth was born the eldest of four children to Alex and Anne Maguire in Trochu, Alberta on May 28, 1946. She later moved to Calgary in 1950. Elizabeth loved to spend time with family as she was warm, thoughtful, loving and compassionate. She will be sadly missed but it is comforting to know she is now dancing with the angels, free and happy. Elizabeth is survived by her loving husband of forty years, David Joseph Wingert; her two children, Peter (Theresa) Wingert of Drayton Valley, Alberta and Brigette (Scott) Rawlings of Crossfield, Alberta; her grandchild David Wingert; her mother, Anne Maguire; her sister Pam Wangsness of Leduc; her brother Roy (Marjorie) Maguire; her brother-in-law Raymond (Millie) Wingert; Elizabeth Wingert of Calgary; her sisters-in-law Joyce Goforth of Pierson, MB, Elieen Robertson, of Pine Falls, MB, Alice Wingert, Evelyn (Earl) Bridgeman of Brandon, MB, Nadine (Fred) Kalinowshy of Beausejour, MB, Loriane Wingert of London, ON, and Leona Glennon of Trenton, ON; three grand-dogs, Buddy, Rupert and Merlin, as well as her fateful cat Football; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Elizabeth was predeceased by her father Alex Maguire; brother Colin Maguire; brother-in-law Orrin Wangsness; mother and father-in-law Mary and Joseph Wingert; brothers-in-law Richard, Donald, and James Wingert. A Celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY’S Eastside Memorial Chapel (5388 Memorial Drive N.E.) on Saturday, March 31, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. Forward condolences through www.mcinnisandholloway.com. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful staff at the Agape Hospice in Calgary for their caring and compassion in Elizabeth’s final days, as well as Dr. Scott Dowden and the staff of the Tom Baker Cancer Center.
