Obituary of Johanna Schmaltz

Johanna (Jennie) Schmaltz, of Calgary passed away on Monday March 26, 2007, at the age of 92 years. Jennie was born in Zelma, Saskatchewan. She moved to Beiseker, AB in 1926. In July 1988 she moved to Calgary to the Forest Grove Care Centre and has resided there ever since. On October 23, 1934 she married Louis (LL) Schmaltz. She was a life-time member of the CWL. Jennie is survived by her four sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Evelyn Schmaltz of Kelowna, Clair and Thelma Schmaltz, Lewis and Alice Schmaltz, and Terry and Noni Schmaltz all of Calgary; ten grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; as well as her great-great-granddaughter. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law Nick and Millie Schwartzenberger of Calgary. Jennie was predeceased by her husband Louis in 1995, her daughter Marguita Marie in 1937, as well as two grandsons, Toby Schmaltz in 1977 and Michael Sterling in 2005. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1525 – 45th Street S.E.) on Thursday, March 29, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Trinity Catholic Church (1525 – 45th Street S.E.) on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. Graveside Service to follow at Rockyview Garden of Peace.
