Obituary of Rose Anne Arbuckle

Rose Anne Arbuckle, wife of the late Grant Arbuckle of Calgary, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2007 at the age of 88 years. Rose was born on July 8, 1918 in Waskada Manitoba. She graduated from nursing at the Misericordia Hospital in Winnipeg in 1942 Rose married Grant Arbuckle in 1943 and moved to Calgary after Grant returned from World War II. She specialized in labour and delivery and assisted many of her friends in the delivery of their children. Rose was truly a “lady with a beautiful spirit”. She was generous, loyal, gentle and loving. All those who knew Rose will share many fond memories. She was always eager to learn and participate in new adventures; she even took a computer course at the age of 80 years. Rose was a talented knitter and many newborns left the hospital wearing a “Rose outfit”. She was blessed and loved by many friends who were so kind to visit and share a cup of tea. Rose was the loving mother of Jean and Patti; loving mother-in-law of Paul Hood; grandmother of, Christi (Neil), Nick, Sarah and Colin; and great grandmother of Ryley, Blake and Danika. She is also survived by three sisters, Pearl, Ruby and Vi; by her brother-in-law Bob, all of Manitoba and by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church (5340 – 4th Street S.W.) on Friday, March 30, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
