Obituary of John Adam Gordon

John Adam Gordon, beloved husband and best friend of Dorothy Gordon of Calgary, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2007 at the age of 82 years. John was born on October 24, 1924 in Boston, Massachusetts. He came to New Brunswick with his parents as a young child. From 1943 to 1946 he served his country with the Royal Canadian Navy. On April 14, 1954, he married Dorothy Chambers. John owned and operated Mel’s Diner in Moncton, NB and resided there with Dorothy until 1997 when they moved to Calgary to be nearer to their daughter, son-in-law and especially his grandson. John had a passion for baseball and was inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame as a baseball coach. An avid sports fan, he also enjoyed golfing and curling. John was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and friend to many. Besides his loving wife Dorothy, John is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Margaret (Meg) and Paul Reynolds of Calgary; and a grandson John Andrew Reynolds. He is also survived by a brother Victor (Alice) Oulton of Moncton; and sister Pearl Cosnick of Glace Bay, NS; as well as several in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Ronald, Carl, Borden, and Harley; and his sister Bernadette (Bun).
