Obituary of Joye Marriott
Joye Marriott passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family, on Thursday, March 15, 2007.
Joye is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband and best friend of forty years Jamie; her three children, Dawn (Roger), Brian (Meagan) and Jeffry; and her grandsons, Jamie and Adam. She is also survived by her mother Eileen; her sisters Donalda (Richard) and Kim (Chris); and her brothers Tom (Linda), Brent (Jane), and Kevin all of British Columbia. Joye was predeceased by her father Hilary White.
Joye was born in Halifax, NS but moved west after marrying Jamie in 1967. In the late 1980’s Joye was thrilled to relocate her family to Fort Walton Beach, Florida. This is where she had the opportunity to further pursue her love of singing country music, winning several local competitions and even an invitation to audition for Nashville’s “You Can Be a Star” television program. Joye also had entrepreneurial interests that led to the development of “Joye’s Fudge” and the “Joye of Giving”. Above all else, Joye dedicated her life to her family and loved them dearly. Her devotion to her family was nothing short of “AWE-SOME!”- a phrase she often used during happy times.
